I want a puppy.
However, the puppy that I most want is pretty expensive, and while I could completely deplete my savings account to purchase this puppy, I just don't find that to be a wise fiscal decision. I also don't want to be a crack whore puppy mommy, destitute and living on the street.
So, I did some quick recreational math (which you know I never do) and realized that if each of my friends donated just $1.75 (less than a cup of coffee!) to this fund, I could get the puppy!
